Terms of Use
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This page is currently available in English only.
- TeraMenu is free to use. A few ads in the app help pay for it.
- Credits let you open menus without ads. They have no cash value, and credits gained by abusing invites can be removed.
- Menus and prices come from the restaurants and their websites. We work to keep them current, but the restaurant always has the final word, especially on allergens.
- Restaurants that edit their menu are responsible for what they publish and keep their access code private.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the TeraMenu mobile app and the website at teramenu.com (together, "TeraMenu"), operated by Dortana (contact: info@teramenu.com). By using TeraMenu you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
2. What TeraMenu does
TeraMenu shows restaurants in Budapest on a map, together with their daily and weekly menus, prices, ratings and photos. TeraMenu is an information service only: we don't sell food, take orders or reservations, or handle payments. Anything you buy, you buy from the restaurant, and the restaurant is responsible for it.
3. Menus, prices and restaurant information
- Menus are added by restaurants themselves, or collected by us from the restaurant's own website. Restaurant details, ratings and photos come from Google Maps.
- Dishes, prices, opening times and payment options can change at short notice, and a dish can sell out. We can't guarantee that everything shown is complete or current.
- Allergens and dietary labels are provided by the restaurant. If you have an allergy or intolerance, always confirm with the restaurant before ordering.
- Menus shown in another language are translations and can contain mistakes. The original wording is what counts.
If you spot something wrong, email info@teramenu.com and we'll look into it.
4. Using TeraMenu
TeraMenu is for personal, non-commercial use. Please don't:
- copy, scrape or bulk download menus, restaurant data or photos, by automated means or otherwise;
- interfere with the service, try to get around its security, or access parts of it you're not meant to;
- use TeraMenu for anything unlawful.
5. Your account
You can browse our website without an account. To use the app, you sign in with Google or Apple, and you're responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app or by emailing us. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
6. For restaurants
Restaurants can edit their menu through a private link and access code. If you manage a restaurant's menu on TeraMenu:
- Keep your access code private. Anyone with it can change your menu. If you think it has leaked, tell us and we'll issue a new one.
- You're responsible for what you publish: dishes, prices, allergens, dietary labels and other details must be accurate and lawful, and must not infringe anyone's rights.
- You allow us to show your content in the app and on the website, to translate it, and to format it for display, for as long as it is listed on TeraMenu.
- We may correct obvious mistakes, and may remove content that is inaccurate, unlawful or inappropriate.
- Where your restaurant publishes its menu on its own website, we may import it so customers can see it. If you'd rather we didn't, email us and we'll stop.
- Listing is free. If that ever changes, we'll tell you in advance and nothing will be charged without your agreement.
7. Ads
The app shows ads from Google AdMob. We're not responsible for the content of ads or for third-party websites they link to. See the privacy policy for how ad personalisation works. You can open menus without ads using credits (see section 8).
8. Credits and invites
What credits are. Credits let you open a restaurant's menu in the app without watching an ad. Each menu opened this way uses the number of credits shown in the app. Reopening the same menu shortly afterwards is free. You can choose in the app whether credits are used.
Earning credits. You earn credits when a friend joins TeraMenu through your invite link and starts using the app (the app shows the current reward and when it's paid). A friend who joins through an invite may receive a welcome bonus. We may also give credits, for example in promotions or as a thank-you, and we may later offer credits for sale under additional terms shown at the time of purchase.
Fair use. Invite rewards are for genuine new users. Creating extra accounts, inviting yourself, or any other attempt to obtain credits unfairly is not allowed; an invite reward is paid at most once per phone. If we find abuse, we may refuse rewards, remove credits obtained that way, or suspend the account.
No cash value. Credits have no monetary value. They can't be exchanged for money, sold, transferred or moved to another account, and they end when the account is deleted.
Changes. We may change how many credits a menu costs, the rewards for invites, or end the credits programme. We'll announce significant changes in the app, and if we end the programme, credits you hold remain usable for at least 30 days.
9. Intellectual property
The TeraMenu name, logo, app and website belong to us. Restaurant ratings, reviews, maps and photos are provided by Google and belong to Google and their authors. Menus belong to the restaurants.
10. Availability and liability
We provide TeraMenu free of charge and "as is". We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from information shown on TeraMenu that turns out to be inaccurate or out of date, or from your dealings with a restaurant. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for intentional or grossly negligent conduct, for harm to life, body or health, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by contract.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll also let you know in the app.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Hungarian law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country.
